I 50 anni del Grattacielo
Symbol of the city, the skyscraper Rimini is 50 years old and is celebrated by condominiums and music shows in the basement of the building.
Built in the ’60s, designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, the skyscraper overlooking the city of Rimini as a reference point, a few meters from the promenade from which you can easily see the skyscrapers of Cesenatico.
the skyscraper was the home of the bourgeoisie who came to Milan, Bologna and Rimini to spend their summer holiday or for business reasons.
Over the years things have changed a little, the apartments are often rather large, they were rented out to college students view the location a few meters from the center, the station and the sea, and to foreigners, especially Asians and Africans.
To date, the skyscraper has become home to young people, including artists, known as the Rimini director Marco Bertozzi who lives in an apartment on the 21st floor and has exposed their ideas about the renovation of the building that will be disseminated by means of projections and photo exhibitions in occasion of the celebrations for the birthday of the skyscraper.
The party for the 50th anniversary of the skyscraper will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, since its October 3, 1960 ended the construction of the building.
This festival will also be a way to emphasize cultural integration as the high-rise apartment buildings that now consists of 30% are foreigners.
Also a way to talk about upgrading the years since the skyscraper of Rimini has also lived periods of deterioration.
